The life of your tattoo depends on the care it receives during healing!
Keep the bandage on at least 4 hrs, Overnight in some cases.
Remove the bandage and gently wash your tattoo with soap and water in the shower. Use only your hands to clean it; no washcloth or anything abrasive. Pat it dry when you get out of the shower. You do not need to over wash your tattoo throughout the day, 1-2 Times total each day is plenty.
For the next 3-4 days, let the tattoo air out and form a light dry scab before you start applying lotion. Once you feel the dry, flaky-ness, start the lotion process morning and night, anything unscented, until the scab is gone. You will start to see the skin fall off in chunks or little sheets by itself, that is normal. Do NOT pick! You need to make sure the lotion is COMPLETELY RUBBED IN, meaning you should not see any lotion residue on the skin. Loose cotton clothing is best for healing. Types of lotion to use: coconut oil (VERY SPARINGLY), Lubriderm, Cetaphil, Curel, any white lotion that has zero bells and whistles UNSCENTED.
Always handle your tattoo with clean hands and don’t let people touch it.
Avoid the following for two weeks, or until healed.
Do NOT use Aloe products, Neosporin, etc.
Do NOT swim, soak, or use the sauna. showers are ok
Do NOT expose to direct sunlight or tanning
Once healed, preserve your piece of art by using sunscreen if you are in direct sunlight for a period of time.
All tattoos do NOT need touch ups. If you have questions regarding that, send a photo of your healed tattoo to me or come into the shop. $40 set up fee may apply. Touch ups are something that would be noticed as soon as your tattoo is healed, a touch up that is guaranteed from me means it was my mistake. I honor free touch ups only in this case and ONLY for up to 3 months after the tattoo.
THE TATTOO IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. USE COMMON SENSE. A PERFECT TATTOO IS A TEAM EFFORT.
